Longer bike ride on Saturday

Amy C is planning a longer bike ride on saturday morning if anyone is interested.

Swim in the morning, eat breakfast at Charlies then get on the bike by 10:30am.

Gotta get some pictures on this blog, that should be a good opportunity.

My 2007 Flying Machine

I've mentioned to some that I have been building up a different bike this year. Well she is finished and test rides so far have been very very promising.

Total build cost = $300 (It helped that I already had all 95% of components and race wheels though ;)

Dura Ace through out.
2007 Zipp 404 with wheelbuilder.com rear cover.
2006 Easton attack TT areo bars.
ISM Adamo Saddle
Front and Down tube Areo water bottles(not shown)
FSA Mega Expo BB
Triumvate Cranks
Shimano SPD peddles.
Pro Race 2s on the tarmac.

Weighs in a little under 20 pound race ready and is the most comfortable bike I have ever had the pleasure to ride. The most surprising difference was the handling, once you get used to the beam movement this baby corners like its on rails!

The weather is looking warmer

There is a swim at Life Time Fintness Canton at 5:45pm that many of us are going to.  The swim there last night went really well with 9 swimmers.

Now that the weather is getting warmer and hopefully we are past the cold stuff I'm looking to get some good hilly rides in.  I got a good bke route near Island Lake that is pretty challenging and I think would be a good prep for TTT and IMMoo

38.5 miles
1 lap of Island lake, through Kensington, 1 time up Kensington road and over Tower Hill, then I rode east past the GM proving grounds, south on Milford Rd and back into Kensington for another go at those two hills. Out the gate and back to Island lake.

Also we should be looking to get out to Pinckney soon to ride the Ann Arbor Tri course.  It's another course that could help us with climbing.
